Strengthening Faith One Heart at a Time
“Never be afraid to trust God and believe in your dreams. Courageously reach for the stars and believe that you can reach them. The worst that can happen is that you fall short and only reach the clouds. That is by far better than some day sitting on a porch talking about all of the things you could have done with your life. And like Jesus Himself said in the Bible, If you help even just one person in need, you did it for Him.”
Sherry and J.D. Jenkins
About Us
In September of 2012, J.D. and Sherry went on their first Christian Medical Mission trip to evangelize and serve in remote and impoverished villages in Honduras. It was a life-changing experience which lit a spiritual fire and they have returned many times since. The numerous experiences they could share of the miracles witnessed, lives changed, spiritual family growth and people accepting Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are endless. Today, they are board members of, “Faith of a Child Ministries.” They and their dedicated team members return to Honduras every chance they get.
Although Honduras will forever hold a special place in the Jenkins’ hearts, they also feel led to serve God in many more places, both in the states and around the world. It’s J.D.’s hope that his writing and public speaking engagements will help pave the way for he and Sherry to answer every calling they receive from God. They have also recently begun a faith-based apparel and miscellaneous product and decor site on-line through their new website, “SweetnDill.com”.
J.D. has thus far penned five books with plans for many more in the future. His first book, “God, It’s Just Not Fair,” was published in 2008 with plans to revise and republish it in the near future.
In 2014 he published an exciting and highly inspirational three-book series entitled, “All Tangled Up,” which is currently available on Amazon.com and BarnesAndNoble.com. The series takes place mostly in God’s Great Smoky Mountains through the life of a remarkable, beautiful and unforgettable woman named Olivia. The series takes readers on an emotional roller coaster ride that will help them draw closer to God and it will reside in their hearts forever.
Then in 2023, after much soul-searching, urging from both God and friends and with a huge leap of faith J.D. published his personal true story, “Fried Pickles” with TBN’s (Trinity Broadcasting Network) Trilogy Publishing. It too takes readers on an exciting and emotional ride that will forever impact them on a spiritual level. It leaves them knowing that no matter what life throws at them, that God is greater and He loves them. “Fried Pickles” is available through Amazon, Barnes and Noble and on-line wherever books are sold all over the world.
Only God knows what the future holds for J.D. and Sherry, but it is a surety that it will involve serving God, people in need and spreading the love and saving message of Jesus Christ everywhere they go.

“WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE?”
“All Tangled Up – Olivia” is the first in a three book series which is a true to life beacon of hope. The series tugs at the very heartstrings of the human soul as it takes its readers on an emotional roller coaster ride through the joyful, lovable and exciting, yet at times, tragic life of 47 year old Olivia Marie Dansinger.
You know that old-age question, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” Olivia is the person they were referring to. She appears to be a rock solid Christian with unwavering faith whom everyone loves and admires, but what they do not know, is that she is sad, lonely and as fragile as an eggshell. This beautiful, mid-western, Christian redhead St Louis Cardinals fan quickly becomes real to the reader as the unforgettable story unfolds. It uniquely combines the wonders of nature, American patriotism and an underdog’s determination and unrelenting faith in God despite a lifelong barrage of seemingly insurmountable odds in a beautiful, but oftentimes cruel world.
A CLOSER RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
Book two, “All Tangled Up – The Journey” briefly picks up where book one, “All Tangled Up – Olivia” left off before jumping back in time to D-Day in 1944 to introduce Landon Thomas Gerald. Landon is a young paratrooper from Kavanaugh, Tennessee, the same small Smoky Mountain town that our main character, Olivia ventured to following a devastating pair of freak tornadoes. The story begins in a blur of brave heroism and excitement with Landon getting set to jump out of a plane into the heat of battle defending the freedom of America as he reminisces the past. Then, in the heat of a raging battle when Landon is faced with a life or death decision, the story leaves everyone hanging to jump forward in time to the 23rd of November 1966 and the birth of Olivia.
The unique connection God establishes between Landon and Olivia will be revealed by the end of the, “All Tangled Up” series, but book two promises to give the reader a thrilling and emotion-packed inside look at Olivia causing them not only to love her even more, but to understand her on a deeper and emotional level.
“All Tangled Up – The Journey” allows the reader to see, feel and experience Olivia’s life from birth to adulthood through her own eyes, thoughts and experiences. You will laugh and cry, get angry and rejoice and you might even get the willies at some point, but most of all you will embrace Olivia in your heart and feel closer in your own relationship to God.
GOD HAS BEEN WORKING A PLAN IN THE LIFE OF OLIVIA.
“All Tangled Up – Full Circle” is the third and final book in the, “All Tangled Up” series by J.D. Jenkins. It digs deeper into the remarkable life and faith of, Olivia Marie Dansinger.
Olivia is a beautiful red haired, green eyed nurse in her late forties who lights up the world around her, but behind her radiant smiles and positive demeanor, she is lonely, heart-broken and scared to death.
The first book in the series, “All Tangled Up – Olivia” started at a point in Olivia’s life when she was ready to call it quits on everything. God moved in her to answer a calling to go on a mission trip to Kavanaugh, Tennessee. Kavanaugh is a small town just outside of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park which was struck by a pair of freak tornadoes.
In Kavanaugh Olivia meets and falls in love with a little boy named Tommy who was orphaned by the tornadoes. Then of course, there’s Leo, the handsome, blue-eyed man who totally captivates her heart and makes her envision possibilities that both enthrall and terrify her at the same time.
